        The PCB load in the Millers River was relatively small compared with PCB loads in other PCB-contaminated rivers in the Northeast. The likely source of PCBs in the Millers River Basin is the remobilization of PCBs associated with stream sediments. PCBs deposited on the sediment likely originated from an upstream source.   The Miller’s River is a tiny estuary that lies beneath the 93 overpass that lies between Charlestown and Boston Sand and Gravel. It is the remnants of an oyster filled expanse of water that extended past Bunker Hill College, the MBTA’s train storage shed, the Galleria Mall and almost to the Cambridge Court House.

      There will be eight interconnected regions: Tully River basin, Millers River basin, Swift River basin, Quabbin basin, Farley Ledge Loop, Mount Grace, Warwick Forest and the Metacomet-Monadnock Trail. “I’d say about 90 percent of it will be interconnected trails that already exist,” Curley explained. “The pieces are all in place. Establishing a basin steward to be a single point of contact for activities and information related to the basin was recommended in the Miller and Walker Creeks Basin Plan. Stewardship of the Miller/Walker Creeks basin is jointly funded by the City of Burien, City of Normandy Park, City of SeaTac, King County, and the Port of Seattle.
